untitled

cherish your solitude.
take trains by yourself
to places you have never been.
sleep out alone under the stars.
learn how to drive a stick shift.
go so far away that you stop being afraid of not coming back.
say no when you don't want to do something.
say yes if your instincts are strong, even if everyone around you disagrees.
decide whether you want to be liked or admired.
decide if fitting inis more important than finding out what you're doing here.
believe in kissing.

Weddings and the Almost Fire

Lovely flowers, freshly pressed linens and carefully thought out graphics... Who knew helping with a wedding could be such hard work. Yet so worth it for such a good friend!
And for the comic relief... Who knew that this firey but beautiful contraption might possibly burn the place down though... Luckily it was noticed and the guest book was saved before there was any major, epic memory, damage. So glad that we can laugh about this almost tragedy.

Lesson learned: No matter how aesthetically pleasing, 30+ candlesticks do not belong in the same vase.

Happy wedding season!

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day
Plant a garden, use your reusable shopping bags at the grocery store, eat local, take shorter showers, use less paper... the list is endless.

people watching and booty shaking

tonight i attended this concert.
the show was amazing. the music was great and the band was entertaining.
i love concerts for the music.
but i also love them for another reason.
it's one of those events where all types of people, all shapes and sizes, young and old, cool and uncool come together.
you know what this means?
some really great music and in addition to that, much to my liking, really great people watching!
and believe me, it was some of the best.
there's the jumpers, the swayers, the booty shakes, the fist pumpers.
all inhibitions gone, out the door... these people just let loose and don't care who's watching.
unfortunately for me and my good friends, the fist pumper was standing right in front of us.
and let me remind you, this was Arcade Fire, not Jersey Shore.
so just a little reminder for next time, the only time fist pumping is necessary is in da club.
happy concert going.

Thanks Maren!
Loving this music video...
What talent it must take to have created the cutouts and all of the lighting that goes into it.
You can read more about it here.
