sold out show = meeting the band

so recently i tried to attend Passion Pit's concert unsuccessfully. i always buy tickets in advance. i get too anxious if i don't. this time i didn't and all of my anxiety proved to be well deserved. got to the show early... sold out. small venue and i should have known. the tour bus - parked out front of the venue and we could see the band inside and i thought - hey maybe they could get us in. i have a daring friend who knocked on the door. to make a long story short, they couldn't get us in due to some unreasonable excuse by their manager. nonetheless jeff and ayad hung out with us for a half an hour while the opening band played. so nice and funny. i am in love and i might be guilty of wishing to be a groupie.

Thriller

So the VMA awards did a tribute to Michael Jackson and honestly I think we all should do our own little tribute to MJ. With this t-shirt anyone could learn the smooth moves to Thriller.

So at first I was skeptical... My good friend, EC, joins a band. I know you are probably skeptical right now as well. How many friends have you had that just "join" a band. EC is very talented though and this band is a legitimate band known all over the country and even the world (They are on tour in the country right now and will go to Japan pretty soon). Over the past few days I have been listening to the new Joshua James cd and love it! It has been especially enjoyable driving in this rainy fall weather. Not a huge fan of the rain but JJ makes it so much better! Good luck on the road EC!

I found these on a blog and LOVED them. In an attempt to make my own, I went to a bunch of different fabric and craft stores. These lovely lace flowers are NO where to be found. I think I might just have to buy one instead.

New York, I Love You

October 16th! I can't wait for this date! A few months back I heard about this movie, New York, I Love You which has the same producer as Paris, Je'taime. This looks so amazing and has a great cast listing!

Craft Lake City was GREAT! I bought these earrings from these cute girls!

I also got to meet this amazing artist, Leia Bell, who has inspired my love for the mix of graphic design and music. I bought two great magnets from her, an Elvis Costello concert magnet and a Fiery Furnaces magnet!

So there is this new music video that is supposedly the "500 Days of Summer" music video (watch it here) but I don't really see what it has to do with the movie. Regardless I love it! I know I always rave about Zooey but Joseph Gordon-Levitt is so cute! He has definitely come a long way from the days of "3rd Rock from the Sun".

500 Days of Waiting

So today is finally the day... I have been waiting to see this movie ever since it was at the Sundance Film Festival! 500 Days of Summer stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Some say that it is not that great but I am excited to see it nonetheless!

August 25th

The other day while perusing the world wide web, it was discovered that Imogen Heap was releasing a long awaited new album on August 25th. Another one of my favorites, Ingrid Michaelson, is also releasing her new album on the 25th. Counting down the days....

Chain Reaction

One day while blog stalking I found my dream eyewear worn by the adorable Zooey Deschanel. After doing some extensive research I found out that they were Oliver Peoples glasses and came across this advertising campaign for the company.

After finding this video I have become obsessed with the director, Autumn de Wilde. She has been the photographer of many album covers and has directed some of my favorite music videos.

Today is Tuesday

Today is only Tuesday. It feels like it should be at least Thursday. The days are dragging yet this week is a short one... One and a half days left of work. Thank goodness!!! But I do love this article from The Onion.

When I was in London I shopped at Topshop. It was fairly affordable and oh so stylish. Kate Moss even has a clothing line there. NY is the only one lucky enough to have this store though.

I made a blog

After a long and stressful day at work, I come home to relax and what happens? I decide to create this blog. I love to read others blogs but I never thought I would come back into the blogging world after it became a tedious assignment on a study abroad trip to Europe a few summers ago. Who knows, maybe this will be a good place for my creative ideas to flow and a place to share some of my design inspiration... Only time will tell...
